ID Tags

I am a long-time user of MP3DirectCut. One of the new things I am using it for, is to raise the volume of BBC podcasts, which are often so low that I cannot hear them while riding on the train.

But when I save the file after doing this, I lose the ID tag information. Is there anything I can do to keep the tag info? I could not find any configuration settings in MP3DirectCut to preserve ID tags.

Often the filenames are just a bunch of numbers and the program/episode titles are in the ID tags.

but when I manually add Tags (with mp3DirectCut) it does only save them as ID3v1, doesn't it?
This is very annoying, I always have to run mp3Tag (which has a bad Folder access) to edit the Tags another time.

Yes, only ID3v1 is editable.
May be it makes sense to automatically disable the ID3v2 keep function, if the other tag has been changed.

Eine weitergehende ID3v2-Unterstützung ist aber im Moment nicht geplant. Denn auch an sich ID3v2 ist very annoying, weil sehr komplex. Auch grundsätzlich finde ich diese Taggerei annoying. Je mehr Informationen an verschiedenen Punkten gespeichert werden, desto mehr Aufwand ist nötig, um sie aktuell zu halten. Tags stammen aus der Zeit als Dateinamen nur 8 Zeichen lang sein durften.
