Play init error - waveOutOpen

I'm getting a 'Play init error' dialog box with waveOutOpen, in it when I try to play an mp3 with the new 1.65 version in Vista Home Ultimate with Wave Mapper selected for the Output device.

I get the same error if I choose 'Speakers (Realtek High Defini' It doesn't appear to be able to display the full name of the device in this case either.

I get an error dialog with no title, and 'DS prim SetFormat error' When selecting 'DirectSound: Primary Sound Driver'

And again with the 'DS prim SetFormat error' when selecting 'DirectSound: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Speakers'

did something change horribly with Vista compatibility? Version 1.63 was working great with no need to run as administrator.

Does it work with the option "5.1 / 24 bit..." unchecked?

Ok the Alpha appears to be working just fine. The 1.65 version that I downloaded and was not working didn't appear to have the options you said to uncheck.

Hope this helps, but it appears whatever changes were made to the alpha are going to work for me.
