Hi, Martin:
I was wondering about the possibility of implementing a "Recent files" feature in 1by1. Here's an example of why I think it'll be useful:
Right now I have a folder containing about four hundred MP3 podcasts that I listen while I'm at work. I usually don't keep track of them, because I know that if I stop and close 1by1 it'll remember the Last Position/File/Folder (let's call this "Podcast LPFF") so later I can resume from there. The problem: if for some reason I need to listen some other file, and I wasn't carefull enough to save the "Podcast LPFF" by using "Add current position to Favorites", then this info will be gone and I'll be forced to do a lot of browsing and seeking to find it again (much more in this case, since each of those hundreds of podcasts are about one hour and a half long, speech-only files).
So, this is where this feature will come very handy. By going to the "Recent files" menu, I'll be able to resume my otherwise lost previous session ("Podcast LPFF").
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has suffered that "F**k!! Why did I had to open that other file?? Now I have no idea where I was in that 200 tracks folder..."
As for the dialog, I was thinking something like this:
If, for example, "File A" (4 minutes long) is playing and at 1 min. 40 sec. I manually change to "File B", 1by1 should add "File A" to the top of the "Recent files" list as "File A (1:40)".
Most of the "Recent files" feature is somehow already in 1by1's code (INI output "fav_set"), so, in order to implement this, maybe it could be replicated as "recent1", "recent2", etc. (I suposse 6-8 will be more than enough) but modified so it'll be triggered "on track change" rather than via "Add current position to Favorites" ("fav_set").
One last thing, since I'm already bothering you with requests: maybe the menu layout for "Favorites" could be re-arranged like this:
That way the main menu won't get cluttered and sometimes way too stretchted by the file names, as it is the case with the current layout:
(BTW, a little bug report: opening a file from the Favorites list doesn't refresh the folder picture).
-----------------------------------------------------
Well, hope you'll take this request into consideration and (if you do) have the time to implement it.
Best regards,
Gabriel. |
