|
|
Hi,
I have lots of copies of the 1by1 program folder, each for a different audio book or other MP3 recording.
This has been working great for several months, and when the last update was released I updated some of the folders to the new version, but now something VERY strange has happened. When I start *ANY* of the 1by1 exe files, it now ALWAYS loads one specific audio book only.
The 1by1.ini files in the different folders are not affected, they still show the correct paths.
(some time later)
I seem to have located the source of the problem: as described above, 1by1 ignored the individual files, and used the .ini in C:\Users\myPC\AppData\Roaming\1by1 instead. I renamed that folder, now it works again.
I decided to still post it, might be a bug? |

Then it's a feature that had disabled my #1 reason for using 1by1 |

Why? It works as you want it after deleting the centralized .ini.
Many progs work the same way: ini is per default in the user folder but you can also use an ini in the program folder if you want... |

Why that? Just read the manual...
"Uninstall
To remove 1by1 from your system, simply delete the program folder and the shortcuts. The program does not create any registry entries. 1by1 tries to store it's ini-File in the program folder. If you don't have write access there, the settings are stored in the folder 1by1 in the application data section of the user profile. To remove it from there, you can press the Remove/uninstall... button in the Control section of 1by1's settings."
So just see the "Configuration Files"-Section in the Settings - Control - window. |

Don't panic. It's a feature ;)
1by1 saves the ini to the user's application data folder, if there is no write access to the program folder. From there on the user folder ini is used, because 1by1 always looks if there is an ini at startup.
Solution1: Delete the 1by1 folder in app data as teMPo said.
Solution2: To force using the local ini in the program folder start 1by1 with the option /localini, e.g. by adding the option to the command line in a 1by1 link.

Ah, thanks, I think this happened when the system was shutting down by itself once and TrueCrypt had dismounted a partition already when 1by1 tried to write its data. |
