Install fails in W7 64 bit

I'm having problems installing mp3directcut 2.12 on Windows 7 64 bit. The installer prompts to install it by default in

C:\Program Files (x86)\mp3DirectCut

Then refuses to do it. I've seen different errors depending on where I've run the installer from (complaining about characters in the pathname, or a more vague installation aborted one). I've tried creating the folder for it, and turning the 'create folder' checkbox off.

The machine only has one user profile, and it's an administrator, and I've tried turning McAfee off. Any suggestions? I've noticed another Dell user on a laptop forum has had the same problem (but no solution).

You need to choose "run as administrator" in the context menu to install the program in program directory.

That's great - thank you! I had assumed being logged on as admin would be good enough.
