Just installed 1by1 in Seven and get some strange white icons in the folder tree that never had seen before while I was using it under XP, what exactly are? are making reference to some directories or devices? if not, can I remove them?
Thanks in advance for any help. |

They are making references to folders like My Documents.
Yes, it's a flaw. Maybe it's possible to title or remove them in the tree-view. |

Thanks for reply gaga, I couldn't find how to rename or remove them, there is no such option in the context menu and no reference to these folders in 1by1.ini.
I hope that can be fixed in near future, it's not a big issue but a little annoying and anti-aesthetic to the sight. |

Yes, that's really ugly. How is that possible? I can't imagine that MS removed the virtual folders My documents, My audios and Favorites.
Does that happen on every Seven?
In the next version I can add checkboxes for hiding these Items. But this wouldn't be the real solution of the problem. |

No problems here with German Win7 64bit.
Could it be an unicode issue?

I'm using 1by1 on Win7 32bits and those folders (My documents, My music and Favorites) are located directly in %Userprofile%, although there is a shortcut to "My Music" inside "My documents". If I remember well in XP folders like "My Music" were located in "Userprofile\My Documents\" but not in Userprofile.

I agree, that option would be fine as last recourse.

I doubt it, my Win7 is in Spanish for which there is no need of unicode support, otherwise the OS has multilanguage support, meaning that I'm using it in spanish because I downloaded and installed that language pack from MS but originally is in english. |

I am pretty sure that this is not an issue caused by 1by1 but by Windows 7 and the way it treats folders, the translation of folders' names to other languages and so called "junctions". There are "real folders" and virtual folders in Windows 7.
I read about this in the German computer magazine "COM!" 9/2010.
I am sorry I cannot explain the complete background in English.
But maybe I gave you enough hints to get deeper into that problem. |

Confirmend for Win7 HP 64 bit and Win 7 Pro 32 bit, german.
I guess it's something with the "junctions", too.
I always thought it was my multicard-reader, so I didn't pay attention to this until now. |

Just to let you know: I had this problem in Win 7/64 as well. However, after a bit of random adding folders to favourites and setting 1by1 to start in base folder, then restarting, the folder icons now all look pretty again.
I can't tell you which of those two things did the trick, or even whether they were actually involved in solving it, but thought you might like to know. I no longer start in base folder, but the icons have stayed looking nice. |

Well, I've set 1by1 1.70 to start in base folder and also add 4 folders to favorites and I still get those awful icons I'll return to 1.71 alpha, the options to hide those icons seems to be the only solution for the moment. |
