Suggestion: Scrobble other formats than MP3

I'm a long time fan of 1by1 and was gladly surprised with the recently introduced audioscrobbling functionality. For a future version, I'd like to suggest the following.

Using plugins like in_mp4.dll I play M4A files in 1by1. The artist and track title are correctly read from their tags and displayed in the program, so 1by1 seems able to obtain this information.

However, the information is not forwarded to the audioscrobbler; I don't see any of my M4A tracks appearing on last.fm. The filenames show in 1by1's track log, but without the tag information.

So, since 1by1 can already read the artist and track name from the tags of formats such as M4A and FLAC, would it be possible to couple this to the logging and scrobbling code?

Scobbling already works on plugins, if the filename is in a recognizable format and the format string (e.g. "%A - %T") is given in the settings.

Dividing the "artist - title" string given by plugins could be added to the tag regognition, indeed.

Thanks for picking this up! The beta does send data to Last.fm, but in many cases the artist - track string now contains strange characters. This did not happen in 1.72. For a visual comparison, see my screenshot compilation here:

As you can see, the first example works perfectly fine while the second and third are not recognized by Last.fm due to extra characters in the string. The Kayo Dot string contains extra information that shouldn't be there, like the track number and album. Here's what the FLAC plugin says about the tags of that track:

So everything seems appropriate there.

I used the same system (WinXP Pro SP3 English), the same 1by1.ini, the same DLL's and the same tracks - only the 1by1 EXE was different in my tests.

When I examine a downloaded flac, it works correctly.

For these three albums of mine, it also works flawlessly now. Very nice! I'll let you know if I meet any problems.
