Hallo!
Habe gerade in einem Forum einen ersten Bericht über einen Prototypen, der auf der CES vorgeführt wurde gelesen und wollte euch die Infos nicht vorenthalten:Ya Richard and I were at the CES. I was quite impressed with the semi-working MM. It did display Jpegs on its LCD screen and were remarkably clear. Has a nice look and feel to it. Tried to put it in my pocket but to no avail.
I spoke at length with Blaine (archos webmaster) on a number of issues. Firstly it will support true DIVX or Mpeg4. The unit will be sold as a base unit for $329 or with the Smartmedia/Compact Flash adapter for $369. The Camera adapter will be available a little later.
The hard drive is easier to replace than the recorder..that is if they stick with the prototype configuration. I complained about a 10G hard drive and they are considering making several options available.
The buttons felt good and as Richard mentioned its a little larger than the recorder but not much. I think it looks better.
The unit will be out next month is all goes well. They are still having a problem with the DIVX output.
The screen is remarkably clear for its small size. It has all kinds of navigation available on it and looks really cool in color.
Output to the monitor they had was not great...this was not due to the unit but they had a mismatched computer monitor.
SSI had a great plugin TV which I think would be a great companion to this device and this is available now. Imagine having an MM player with movies playing through a portable 5" TV screen.
Hope this initial review help.
I am still worn out. The CES was huge. Lots of MP3 players coming out but honestly nothing that surpasses SSI and Archos.
I looked at Edigitals, Pogos, Orbans, MPMan company etc etc etc..
Seems like so many companies thinks people will buy 64MB players.

Vor allem die Preise finde ich interessant. Ich werde wohl auf jeden Fall warten, bis das Teil raus ist und mich dann entscheiden, ob ich die JBR 20GB nehme.
Ciao
