The only advantage I can see over the SlimX is the G-Protection. Beside that, the Sony has no feature that can hit the SlimX specs. The case (although stylish metallic) seems to be plastic.
Some of the BAD features are knock-off features in my eyes, i.e. the no ff/fr or the missing backlight. Is Resume supported ? I assume no.
Stick with the SlimX and buy a second (flash based) player for jogging purposes.

That's right! The Sony MP3-CD-Player has no fm-tuner, no upgradeable Firmware (I think) and it doesn't look as cool as the IRiver SlimX. So I would buy me the SlimX!
